Testimonials

"The Nutrition for Performance Club at SUNY Oneonta sets our students athletes up for success and sets us apart from the competition. Any serious competitor knows that you set the table for performance with the right fuel. The students in NFP Club are as passionate about nutrition as our athletes are about performance. The synergy of students helping students to learn, grow, and be their best in an environment of collaboration, preparedness and passion is the secret that sets Oneonta apart. I dare say that there is not another D3 program in the country that has the commitment that NFP has for our teams. NFP club members liaisons with our teams, presents to our Student Athlete Advisory Council, hosts a NFP Expo [Sport Nutrition Expo], and provides on-line support to all athletes. It doesn't get better. Thanks NFP! Oneonta is GREAT and the NFP Club is a jewel. "

"The Nutrition for Performance club has been instrumental in advising our student-athletes on how their personal nutrition can help them to be the best student-athlete they can be!

Nutrition For Performance attends 2-3 SAAC meetings a year to share tid bits on healthy eating that SAAC members can take back and share with their teams.  In addition, each varsity team is assigned a NFP member to work with on an individual basis.  The softball team has utilized this relationship to get a little more information on properly fueling their body during competition.  The team has also worked with NFP members to use the Bod Pod.  The Bod Pod is a very accurate way to measure body composition.  It is pretty amazing that we have that available here at SUNY Oneonta! We use the Bod Pod as a way to evaluate our lifting and nutrition programs.

A student-athlete favorite is the NFP cooking classes!!  Student-athletes get in the kitchen with NFP members and learn how to cook healthy and cost effective meals!  These classes are very popular! NFP does a great job of listening to the needs of the student-athletes and providing information that can be the most helpful to them.

Last, but not least is the Sports Nutrition Expo.  This Expo is held annually during National Student-Athlete Week in April and is a massive undertaking by Nutrition for Performance.  NFP members offer information on a ton of topics including hydration, protein powders, sports drinks, gaining weight, losing weight and the list goes on and on!!  Our student-athletes have the ability to learn about every part of eating healthy and how to fuel their body properly for pre and post competition and practice.

The SUNY Oneonta Athletics Department is extremely lucky to have the services provided by Nutrition for Performance!  With nutrition playing such a large part in the success of a student-athlete it is no wonder SUNY Oneonta finishes in the top 20% of NCAA Division III schools every year!"
